Liaisons

Technical Liaison Officers for Participation (CEPIA)

Technical reference points appointed by the States to work on promoting the participation of children and adolescents.

Among other forms of contact, liaison officers communicate via video conference, on a monthly basis at least. This allows the technical liaison officers to share practices, experiences and proposals to promote and protect child and adolescent participation in the region. We refer to these events as Thematic Discussions with Child Participation Liaison Officers (CEPIA).

As the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child was celebrated in 2019, we have added to the monthly contacts an event that we call the THEMATIC CEPIA, at which we shall have special guests, professionals and academics, for the purposes of creating opportunities for dialogue in order to establish sharing, reflection and analysis of the situation of the rights of children and adolescents in the Americas and the Caribbean.
